Infrared Microscopy (IR-M)
What is IR-M?
IR-M is also known as FTIR Microscopy, enables the analyst to obtain IR spectra from microscopic sized samples or microscopic areas of larger samples. This technique is widely used for the identification of contaminants and impurities across many industries. Small particulate matter dispersed in bulk materials can be physically isolated and then analyzed by this technique. Contaminants that are physically incorporated in larger parts or pieces may be excised, and a portion of the sample made small enough to be subject to this procedure.
