What is Calorimetry?

Calorimetry is the measurement of the amount of heat needed to cause, or as a result of, changes in a material. We use calorimetry to measure the specific heat capacity of a sample compared to a known reference material or to determine the heat of combustion. Calorimetric Testing Techniques

Most calorimetric testing is performed by differential scanning calorimetry. Heat of combustion is performed by bomb calorimetry.
